Puto is a very popular food in the Philippines, usually puto is made with rice flour but in this recipe we will use all purpose flour to have a fluffier texture. This recipe also includes costing for those who are interested to make this as their business.

Yield: 30 pcs

Ingredients
1 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup White Sugar
1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
6 tbsp Evaporated Milk
1/2 cup Water
2 tbsp Softened Butter
1 Egg White (Large)
Slices of Cheese (sachet)

Procedure
Separate egg yolk from egg white. We will only use the egg white for this recipe.
Using a fine mesh strainer sift all purpose flour, white sugar and baking powder. Mix well.
Add all remaining ingredients except cheese. Mix well until smooth and no lumps. You can also strain the batter.
Grease the puto molds with melted butter or vegetable oil. This will help quick release of the puto from the mold once cooked.
Pour the puto batter into the molds (2/3 to 3/4 full) about 2 tbsp of batter because I'm using a a small puto molds, about 3 tbsp volume.
Steam for 9 minutes over low flame.
Note! Wrap the lid with cloth to absorb the water.
After 9 minutes put the cheese slice on top of the puto then steam for another 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Leave to cool.
Remove from the mold and there you have it! Perfect puto made with flour, so fluffy and so yummy!
