In this recipe I will teach you how to make the base or basic ice candy which result to very smooth and creamy texture of ice candy. i will also teach you how to make many flavor of ice candy from this ice candy base.
And because we want to help you start your own food business, costing includes prices of each ingredients, electricity, gas, packaging, srp, potential profit and etc. are all included in this video.
Total Yield: 55 to 65 pcs
First we will make the ice candy base, this will be the base of many different flavor of ice candy.
Ingredients and Prices
2 pcs Large Can Evaporated Milk (410 ml/can) = ₱ 44
7 Cups Water
3/4 cup Cornstarch = ₱ 15
3/4 cup White Sugar = ₱ 40
Total Ingredient Cost of the Base = ₱ 99
Procedure
To make the ice candy base, in a bowl combine 2 cups water and cornstarch, mix well.
In a big pot pour 5 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Once boiling add sugar and mix until dissolved.
Add evaporated milk and bring it back to boil. Once boiling slowly add the water and cornstarch mixture while mixing. Cook for 5 minutes over low flame while continues stirring.
Turn of the fire and leave to cool.
Once the mixture is cold we are done making the ice candy base.

Ice Candy Buko Flavor
Yield: 65 pcs
Ingredients and Prices
1 Recipe Ice Candy Base = ₱ 99
2 pcs Buko = ₱ 50
Other Expenses (electricity, gas, packaging and etc.) = ₱ 20
Total Expenses = ₱ 169
SRP/pc = ₱ 5

Note!
For buko flavor you can use the juice of the buko as a substitute to the water of the base, just add more water to complete the 7 cups needed.
Procedure
Grate the flesh of 2 pcs buko or young coconut and add to the cooled ice candy base.
Pack using 1.5" size ice candy plastic. 1/3 cup of ice candy mixture per piece.
Freeze.
Ice Candy Melon Flavor
Yield: 65 pcs

1/2 kg Ripe Melon = ₱ 40

Procedure
Grate the flesh of 1/2 kg ripe melon and add to the cooled ice candy base.
Pack using 1.5" size ice candy plastic. 1/3 cup of ice candy mixture per piece.
Freeze.
Avocado Ice Candy

1/2 kg Avocado = ₱ 90

Procedure
Using blender puree avocado flesh until smooth, add 1 to 2 cups of ice candy base to get it going and add to the remaining cooled ice candy base.
Pack using 1.5" size ice candy plastic. 1/3 cup of ice candy mixture per piece.
Freeze.
Ice Candy Mango Flavor
Yield: 65 pcs

1/2 kg Ripe Mango = ₱ 80

Procedure
Using blender puree mango flesh until smooth, add 1 to 2 cups of ice candy base to get it going and add to the remaining cooled ice candy base.
Pack using 1.5" size ice candy plastic. 1/3 cup of ice candy mixture per piece.
Freeze.
Ice Candy Chocolate Flavor

Procedure
Before adding the cornstarch and water mixture to the boiling base, add the milo powder and mix well.
Cookies and Cream Ice Candy
Yield: 65 pcs
Ingredients and Prices
1 Recipe Ice Candy Base = ₱ 99
10 packs Cream O Cookies Vanilla Favor (30g/pack) = ₱ 63
Other Expenses (electricity, gas, packaging and etc.) = ₱ 20
Total Expenses = ₱ 182
SRP/pc = ₱ 5
Potential Profit/pc = ₱ 2.2
Procedure
Crush the cookies into tiny little bits (you can use food processor to crush it) and add to the cooled ice candy base.
Pack using 1.5" size ice candy plastic. 1/3 cup of ice candy mixture per piece.
Freeze.
Fruit Salad Ice Candy
Yield: 65 pcs

1 Recipe Ice Candy Base = ₱ 99
1 Can Fruit Cocktail (432g/can) = ₱ 50
Other Expenses (electricity, gas, packaging and etc.) = ₱ 20
Total Expenses = ₱ 169
SRP/pc = ₱ 5
Potential Profit/pc = ₱ 2.40
Procedure
Using blender pulse the fruit cocktail, add 1 to 2 cups of ice candy base to get it going and add to the remaining cooled ice candy base.
Pack using 1.5" size ice candy plastic. 1/3 cup of ice candy mixture per piece.
Freeze.
Note!
Use the fruit cocktail syrup to the ice candy base, reduce the sugar according to your preferred sweetness.
Munggo Ice Candy
Yield: 65 pcs
Ingredients and Prices
1 Recipe of Ice Candy Base = ₱ 99
1/8 kg Red Mungo Beans = ₱ 15
Other Expenses (electricity, gas, packaging and etc.) = ₱ 20
Total Expenses = ₱ 134
SRP/pc = ₱ 5
Potential Profit/pc = ₱ 2.90
Procedure
Boil mungo beans until soft. Cool completely.
Mix to the ice candy base.
Pack using ice candy pack and freeze.
This costing is for small entrepreneur who want to start at low with 5 to 20 pcs production. If you are planing to take this into higher volume of production like 100 and above please adjust for manpower expense and other expenses that might increase and decrease while increasing the volume of production.
Prices of Ingredients are based on mall prices like SM Supermarket, Puregold, etc which is more expensive. If you can buy this ingredients in wet markets and other cheaper groceries you can minimize your ingredients expense and maximize your profit.
