No-Bake Yema Cake-food and recipes


This is a classic version of yema cake. Basically yema cake batter only consist of flour, egg, sugar, baking powder, baking soda,  vanilla extract and milk. But this version of yema cake has orange zest and juice which really lift this simple cake recipe into whole different level.

Yield: 6"x2"
Ingredients

1 cup All Purpose Flour
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 cup Evaporated Milk
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
1 cup White Sugar
Juice of 2 Medium-size Orange
Zest of 1 Orange

For the Frosting
Yema Spread



Procedure
Combine all dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and baking soda) strain and set aside.
Get the zest of one orange.
Add sugar and all wet ingredients (milk,vanilla extract, vegetable oil, and orange juice) mix well until sugar are complete dissolved.
Add dry ingredients one half at a time, mix using hand mixer to make sure that there's no lumps.
Grease a 6"x2" baking pan with vegetable oil and dust with flour.
Pour the cake batter... Steam for 30 to 35 minutes.
Put towel to protect the cake from water drops.
Check if it is cook, inert the the tip of a knife in the center of the cake, it should come out clean if it is already cook.
Once ready turn of the flame and leave it there for 10 minutes with cover. This will prevent the cake from shrinking.
Remove from steamer and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes to cool.
Remove from the pan and put the yema frosting.
Top with grated cheese. Be generous with the cheese it goes perfectly well with the yema frosting.
And there you have it the perfect no-bake yema cake with the zest of orange!
